Show Roger Contor Speaker at JVloab Meeting Roger Contor, former assistant as-sistant superintendent of Canynnlands National Park, was featured speaker at thhe Monday meeting of the Moan Mo-an Rotary Club this week. Mr. Contor, who has recently re-cently completed a special temporary duty assignment in Australia, spoke on his experiences in that country to the forty Rotarians in attendance. at-tendance. The park service career man was sent to New South Wales, Australia, to assist in the planning for new park development in that area. In the past year, a number of new parks have been created creat-ed by the government of that state, he said, and they are atempting to pattern thir park service along the professional pro-fessional lines of the U. S. Park Service. Rotarians stayed past the normal hour for closing the meeting to question Mr. Contor Con-tor on his experience. The park man is a former member mem-ber of the Rotary club. Mr. and Mrs. Contor and their children will leave this week for Seattle, Washington, Washing-ton, where Mr. Contor has been assigned to begin planning plan-ning for a proposed national park in the North Cascade mountains on the U.S. Can- ada border. He will be stationed sta-tioned at present in the Seattle Seat-tle Federal Center. The family expressed regrets re-grets at leaving Moab. They were active in community affairs, Mr. Contor being a member of the Rotary club,, and Mrs. Contor being active ac-tive in the Moab Fine Arts Guild. They are looking forward, for-ward, however, to their new assignment, which will keep them in the west. |
