Show it needs reviewing Although Utahns can be justifiably proud of their owned and operated Park at Dead Horse Point, few of them are happy about the necessity of paying an admission fee particularly those who are holders of the federal Golden Passport card which admits them to all federally-funded recreation areas. The concept of paying admission for use of recreational rec-reational facilities is not new, although in the past, few years the practice has been expanded to include-many include-many more areas than before. We believe that after the first shock of having to pay to use such facilities as Lake Oowah wears off, people who use these developments de-velopments are going to recognize that tremendous expense has gone into developments, and users have an obligation to help underwrite these expenses. It is unfortunate, however, that one "season ticket" can't be used for all recreational sites both state and federal. We would hope that the State Park and Recreation Recre-ation Commission, which must have received innumerable innum-erable complaints over the fee system at state parks in Utah, would give serious thought to the idea of attempting to work out some agreement with the federal agencies involved in the issuance and use ol the Golden Passport, so at least the holders of this $7 card can be admitted to State Parks without having hav-ing to pay an additional fee. |
