Show Local BLM People On Fire Duty In Alaska Although fires on public lands in Utah have been more numerous this summer than for several years, the situation situa-tion is worse in other states. Because of fires in Alaska, for example, eight U. S. Bureau Bu-reau of Land Management employees have been flown there from bureau district of-' fices in Utah. Expected to be involved in fire fighting in Alaska for at least two weeks are John Carlson of Price, who will be a fire boss; Morgan Mor-gan Jensen of Cedar City, plans chief; Ronald Trogstad of Salt Lake Citv, service chief; Frank Rowley of Mon-ticello, Mon-ticello, safety officer; Joseph Cresto, Fillmore, Kenneth Drew of Richfield; Robert Jensen and K. Lynn Bennett of Vernal, sector bosses. Robert D. Nielson, BLM state director for Utah, said bureau employees have fought 53 fires his summer which have burned over 4.522 acres of BLM-administered land in Utah. |
