Show lONG DROUGHT IS BROKEN FARMERS STOCKMEN REJOICE The fIrst storm of any consequence experienced in southeastern Utah in inmany inmany many months was a welcome visItor the past week and the parched range rangelands rangelands lands have at last receIved a drench drench- drenching drenching ing Water holes have been filled and there is considerable snow in the higher highel country enabling cattle and sheep to reach forage which heretofore I had been inaccessible due to the ab- ab of water The storm started Friday night and for four days there were intermittent flurries of rain and snow At Moab about an inch mch of moIsture fell In the theLa La Sal mountains better than a foot of snow was deposited on oJ the ground with about 10 inches on WIlson mesa and at La Sal Several inches of snow fell at Thompsons Preceding the snow sno rain fell for a couple of days saturating the ground The storm has been of immense benefit to the range lands and stock stock- stockmen stockmen men and farmers are arc jubilant |
