Show HOT MUCH CHANGE FOR enquiry at state offices discloses that there is little likelihood that the state bounty fund will be opened again in the near future and that probably the state will pay no more bounties until next september it it does then the bounty fund Is supported by taxes on range sheep and cattle based on their valuation As the valuation has dropped materially and as in addition there Is considerable tax delinquency among livestock owners the revenues to the fund have been light during the two day season that the fund was open recently bounty certificates totaling about were honored by the state in addition there were some claims pending for about more making a total of about 17 payable out of the fund that Is more than the fund was expected to yield this year some revenue will come in when and if the state board of agriculture Is able to sell some of the pelts at a satisfactory figure and an expert for the state has been classifying the pelts and trying to make them marketable should there be any surplus in the fund after outstanding claims have been paid it is believed there will not be enough to pay the set aside by law each year for the purchase of poison for campaigns against pasture destroying rodents |
