| Show MOAB EAVES TO PLAY IN REGION FIVE ROUND ROBIN basketball TOURNEY OF EAST UTAH CHAMPION QUINTETS TO BE STAGED AT STARTING TODAY A round robin series of basketball games between the high school teams of moab price ferron and hanth will be played at price thursday day and saturday of this week to da the champion team of region five to represent eastern utah in the state tournament the round robin will commence thi thursday evening each team ala play each of the other contestants and the quintet that survived the series undefeated will be adjudged the champion the grand county high school under coach eddie kimball left yesterday for price the boys will go into the series with confidence and while they realize they will be up against some stiff competition they expect to make a favorable showing coach kimball took eight men on the trip the players being clay allred captain and forward andrew mb conkle lyman duncan and gwen newell forwards karl allred center and kenneth beach kent taylor and jack guards although the schedule for the round robin had not been made public when the moab team left coach kunnah was of the opinion that moab would be pitted against price in its first game ferron runner up in carbon section won the right to participate ta the round robin by winning a play off series against green river runner up in grand and roosevelt runner up in uintah A number of moab fans are expected to go to price to see at least some of the games and give the local boys ithell support |
