| Show CLEANUP CLEAN UP FOR NEXT WEEK TOWN BOARD URGES PEOPLE OF MOAB TO COOP CO OP ERATE IN CAMPAIGN STARTING MONDAY BENEFIT DANCE FOR STREET improvement TO CLIMAX WEEKS WORK TO BEAUTIFY TOWN A spring cleanup clean up campaign to start next monday mancl 10 and continuing until saturday culminating in a big benefit dance st patricks night march 17 the proceeds to go foi street improvement and maintenance was decided on by th board of town trustees at their meeting monday evening AI citizens of the town men and women boys and arc urged to operate cooperate co in the campaign to the end that the town oi moab may be cleaned up and beautified before the advent oi warm weather the town board at its meeting monday went on record as favoring a continuous program of community betterment last week bome alno work was done in grading the streets and the board decided to keep such improvement work under way steadily owing to the limited finances 0 the town however the board will have to rely to a great extent on the co operation cooperation of the people generally it Is believed that this assistance will ie forthcoming and that the citizens almost without exception will do everything they can to help the good work along the first event on the program Is a dean up campaign this will be staged at once next week in order that it can be completed before spring work starts on the farm every pro perty owner in town is requested to dean up bis yards and the street in front of his property placing all r trash and debris in plies in the streets the town board will provide truck next friday and saturday to haul i away the trash it Is important that all trash be placed near thal roads where it can readily be reached by f the trucks five days monday tuesday wed thursday and friday have been designated forthe for the cleanup clean up work and it Is hoped that by friday night every lot and street in town will be in shipshape ship shape then to properly cde brate the close of the campaign and incidentally to raise some needed funds to continue the street improvement work a big benefit dance will be given bt patricks night march 17 at the W 0 W ball the dance will be featured by a basket BUD per the ladles of the town will be asked to furnish baskets of lunch these will then be auctioned off and all proceeds from the sale of the baskets as well aa from dance tickets will go into the street improvement pro fund the town board hopes that the people of the town will attend the dance en masse and that it can be made a great financial success netting a sum in excess of for the street work with the genuine support of the people the town of moab can soon be cleaned up and beautified the town board hopes this year to eradicate all weeds on the streets and keep the roads smooth many liew culverts cu lverts and bridges will be installed and other needed improvements taken care of the program mapped out by the town board can be accomplished if the people will operate cooperate co next weeks cleanup clean up drive and benefit dance will launch the worthy movement it Is to be hoped that every citizen will heartily approve the program mapped out by the town board and will test this approval by doing his bit next week present at monday nights meeting of the town board were fent J T learning and trustees frank graham W D hammond and H S rutledge |
