| Show installing NEW LIGHT PLANT UNIT WORK STARTS ON improvement OF or UTAH POWER rower LIGHT LOCAL SYSTEM A complete new auxiliary until will be installed by the utah power Ss light company at their moab power house and the work of installation will start this week this was the statement made yesterday by E P F helm heim superintendent of the eastern utah division of the company mr helm heim arrived in moab tuesday evening accompanied compa nied by 0 R olson of the engineering gi department of the company and george pickering construction foreman of the pheonix utility company a subsidiary construction corporation of the utah power light mr pickering will remain in moab to have charge of the new installation stal lation the new equipment to be added at the power house consists of a ISO horsepower gasoline engine together with tanks and accessories aces a new killo kallowat wat generator a new switchboard and a complete new wiring outfit the gasoline engine will be installed at once and the generator now in use will be attached to it the water cheel will then be overhauled and the new generator attached to it the two units will be synchronized so that it will be possible to operate both plants together during peak loads on the system the plant will be able to deliver a greatly increased volume of juice so that all the needs of the community may be served the sale of additional power tor for heating purposes will be pushed as the system will be able to take care of a greatly increased demand during emergency periods such awas experienced this week when the blant was thrown out of commission by freezing of the water of mill creek the gasoline engine unit will be abed and the plant will be so equip oed ned will be no interruptions in service the new installation will be welcomed by the town of moab and especially ally by those thoe business houses that depend on electricity electric ty for power |
