| Show NEAR FLOY STARTED WILL COST federal aid project no comprising 5 7 miles of road and three bridges on the pikes peak highway near floy was initiated this week when the state road submitted to the board of county com of grand county a coop co op agreement covering the project ahe total cost of the of road and the bridges is estimated at the 5 7 miles of road is in the vicinity of solitude station and the proposed bridges will be across brown solitude and floy washes it is proposed to handle the project under the federal aid plan the government furnishing 74 per cent of the funds and the state and county the remaining 26 per cent ordinarily the state requires the counties to defray all of the 26 per cent but in the case of grand county the state will appropriate one half of the amount leaving to be raised by grand county the sum of in a letter to the commissioners state road engineer H S kerr states that in only a few cases has the state agreed to bear a portion of the con st ruction costs but feels that grand county is entitled to this assistance the operative cooperative co agreement will come before the board of county commissioners ners at their meeting in february the project is the first unit of the proposed federal aid highway from green river to the colored state line which the state hopes to construct within the next few years A federal aid project in emen county extending from woodside to green river is also being initiated at this time |
