| Show HALL TO RISE FROM ASHES OF THE OLD NEW MODERN STRUCTURE 50 BY FEET PLANNED WORK TO START WITHIN TWO WEEKS A new goodmen woodmen hall much larger than the old and modern in every respect will rise from the ashes of the old structure which was destroyed by fire on december 27 this was decided saturday night at a large and enthusiastic meeting of la sal camp no goodmen woodmen of the world work on the new structure will commence at once and it is hoped to have it completed by the first of april A meeting of the local goodmen woodmen was held saturday night to talk over the question of rebuilding twenty five members were present and the unanimous sentiment was that no time should be lost in starting work were appointed to work out the plans for the building and to make preparations for financing the project the committees chosen are finance L L taylor jesse maxwell C J meador F W strong H G green T trout john E pace and R C dark construction st D E baldwin J W corbin V P martin boyd S hammond H J nielsen J P miller and R C dark the tentative plans for the building call for a structure that will be 50 by feet in size the old building was 44 by 80 feet the new building will have a basement to house a heating plant motor cocin and kitchen the dance floor will b 80 feet long and on one end a stage 15 feet deep will be provided with dressing rooms on each side in the front of the building a lobby with a cloak room on either side will be built and above these there will be a lodge room about 15 by 50 feet IP dimensions the building will have modern heating and plumbing and a maple dance floor will be laid it has been definitely decided to erect the new building on tn e site of the old it is the intention to confine the irrigation canal which flows in front of the lot in iron culvert and cover it over which will greatly improve the parking facilities around the hall no time will be lost in starting work on the building material will commence moving to the location within the next two weeks and the work of razing the arums rums of the old building and leveling off the of has already started the walls of the new building will be of stucco and and an oval composition roof will ba constructed ted the erection of the building will be rushed it being the intention to hire a large crew of men and push operations to the limit the building will be financed largely by the assistance of members of t c loda who have agreed to advance to make up the deficit that the structure will entail the new structure will cost m the neighborhood of |
