Show RECREATION CENTER ACTIVITIES Another full weeks recreational recreation-al program under the sponsorship of the Salt Lake County Recreational Recrea-tional department showed a decided de-cided increase in attendance. The afternoon -program which starts at 2 p.m. is supervised by Norrene Smernoff. Here the kiddies kid-dies may remain until 5 p.m. and are encouraged to draw, play games and read the many interesting inter-esting books on the shelves. In the evening many of the youngsters young-sters who were previously roaming roam-ing tho streets have now found a place where they can come and spend several hour3 in good wholesome entertainment. The program is arranged so that the children up to ten years of age have access to the facilities until 8 p.m. end then the older groups take over until 10 p.m. During the coming week there will be afternoon programs Monday Mon-day through Friday. In the evening ev-ening the hall will be open Monday, Mon-day, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday Fri-day and Saturday. Also on Saturday Sat-urday there will be tap dancing classes .''tailing at 10 a.m. The tap dancing group under the direction di-rection of Gloria Phelps is planning plan-ning a revue and all kiddies interested in-terested in learning to tup dance should attend the Saturday classes. class-es. A special treat is in store for all teen-agers on Saturday, February Feb-ruary 25 when a dance will be held in the BCO hall starting at 8 p.m. and lasting until 10:30. This dance will be under the joint sponsorship of the county recreation and the Bingham Canyon Can-yon Lions club youth welfare committee. During the past week a music box was presented to the recreation recrea-tion program by the Bingham Volunteer Fire department and will soon be placed into use for the young people. The county recreation directors should be thanked heartily by the residents of this district for making available all the splendid facilities for the young people. Splendid cooperation has been received from the directors of the BCO hall in making this building build-ing available and the directors would like at this time to thank Rev. John A. LaBranche and Rev. Thomas Navien for their assistance. |
