L Richardson of Uinta county in in- northern Wyoming and now lodged In the county jail here charged I with murder in the first degree for forthe forthe the alleged killing of ot Frank Steffen a rancher residing near Lapoint will have his preliminary hearing September 28 The alleged murder occurred February 21 and the body of the man was found lodged In the lice ice In the Uinta river Sheriff Richardson since last winter has been on the trail of Hackford and only recently ascertained his where where- Philip Van charged with complicity in the murder of ot Steffen is being sought by the officers of Utah and Wyoming He had had been located In to northern rn Wyoming but butt succeeded In escaping
