Show TRAINING CAMP ROOKIES HAVE AV SUNDAY JAY VACATION Leave of Absence Granted Until Tomorrow Night j Many Real Beds for Repose Can Disregard Early Morning Calls By Harry E. E MacPherson Far be it of course from any of the training camp recruits at Fort Douglas to admit that already they are tired of army life and to claim they need a va vacation from their vacation But just th the thc I same when at noon today all that wished were given leave of absence absence absence ab ab- ab- ab sence without restriction until taps tomorrow night most of them were mighty glad One prominent nent neat Salt Laker who was among the first to get up gas and motor to tho the city as fast as his car would carry him admits that his tomorrow morning morning morn morn- ing program will be bo about like this First First lie lie is going to have his son who is a high school cadet trumpeter blow a call can at Second Second lie He plans to get up and take the horn away from the kid and go back to sleep Third Third Third-He He will sleep at least till tm 9 Fourth Fourth He He is going to have a breakfast of peaches and cream soft boiled eggs thin brown toast French fried potatoes and a pot of coffee brought to his room Fifth Fifth He He will slowly and casually eat these dainties while he slowly and ancl casually reads the Sunday morning pa paper The t foregoing will probably be the Sunday morning program of a good many tired business men for practically practical practical- ly IF all are aro going to tako advantage of ot the truce to leave the camp Even many of those who are from out of the I city are planning to try a a. hotel bed and some hotel meals tonight and to to- morrow Not on Two Bits But there are a few who prefer to remain in quarters oven even tomorrow and while they wont won't get to sleep till 9 or have their breakfasts brought in they will be allowed a special dispensation dispensation In the form of another hour of sleep Reveille will be sounded at 6 40 instead of as on week days and mess call will also be an hour later 7 15 Going to have any special eats tomorrow tomorrow to to- morrow any Sunday dinner or anything anything any any- thing of that sort I asked Sergeant Pryor who has charge of the mess de Pryor grinned Cant do it on 25 cents a day he said Regulation is a fraction over 26 cents and we are saving the extra cent and fraction every day for an emergency How can they do it on 25 cents a day the rookies have been een asking one another for the last The facts are that they cant can't as things have been going and the i menus will have to be pared a bit in order to quit running over the allowance So for the next three weeks there may not be as good bills of fare as the first week brought forth Those who remain in quarters tomorrow to to- morrow will have a day of rest at that for no work is scheduled except the regular cleaning up of barra barracks ks known own as fatigue in the morning at The Rev J. J Phillip Anshutz of the Episcopal church of Billings Mont 1 one of the students of company G G will preach at the church services at 1030 o'clock All who wish may attend At 8 o'clock tomorrow there Is to bo be a band concert Praise for lor Engineers Capt G.
