UP TO THEM Little J James I e aged 6 years year ears had been taught to pray each night for all his relatives and friends and consequently the list had grown quite large So one night when it came time Ume for the customary cue cue- tomary prayers he refused to say them Well well James said Bald his mother Why wont won't you say them All good little boys say their prayers Yes but Im I'm too tired Oh my that's no excuse Come now that's a good boy Well Veil remarked James I I guess Ill I'll have too But anyhow Im I'm not going to pray for everybody Im I'm goIng goIng going go- go Ing to cut a lot of em out Some of ot em em will have to save themselves Harpers Harper's Magazine
