Adjournment Adjourn-ment of the extra aeaaion of eongreat tB-mJueeday waa jrirtnally agreed noon at a eonferenee today between Vice Pretident Bhermaa, Senator Pen-rose Pen-rose and Democratic Leader Underwood of the house of representative. The eonferenee resulted in Mr. Pea-rote Pea-rote 'a decision to introduce a resolution providing for adjournment that ' day, Mr. Underwood agreeing to make every effort to complete the legislative program pro-gram of the Democratic house Monday. This aetioa closely followed a formal announcement on the floor of the house by Mr. Underwood that while he could make no promise in advanee ha aaw no reason whr adjournment should not be had by Tuesday or Wednesday. ,- Mr. Underwood was the stoms center nf questions from both Democrat and Republicans regarding the legislative windup plana. During the discussion Representative Lenroot of Winconain, progressive Republican, Re-publican, announced that the cotton bill, as amended bv the aenate, would receive no support from th progressive Republicana. Republican Leader Mann of the house pressed Mr. Underwood fo a positive sssursnee as to what hs proposed to do when the vetoed cotton bill was before the house. Mr. Mann declared that if the session continued nutil Tseeday he won Id aot look for adjournment for two weeks. He said it waa necessary to know whether to keep ths Republican members in town.
