Show BECK TUNNEL TO SINK WINZE EOlt TAPPING NEW ORE The Beck Tunnel is eutting oat for the installation of a hoist OB the level at which the tunnel was run to intersect inter-sect the Uncle Bam ore and from this level a winze will be sunk, probably fifty fi'et, from which drifts will be ran out to get the ore as it dips to the east and ruaning south from the preseot workings. This winze will be located over 100 feet south from the preeent winze, or at the north end of the cave which waa discovered and found to be ore bearing. There is a vein of ore on the north face at this point which it is thought will run to the north about 100 feet and connect with the preeent ore in the winze whieh was suak near the tun- osl. Bouth from this plae th ore is exposed to th east and in some places in th bottom of th drift to the southernmost south-ernmost part of theworkings, a distance of perhaps 100 feet. At the south end It is about three feet wide and din to the east In th bedding plane of the lime, earrving value in th neighbor-j -fcood. .of iQ ex ion. 1 From tb appearances in these workings work-ings the ore lies to the east and this drift seems to be along the western side on top of th ore. The, winze which will be sunk fifteen fet wilt crosscut to tb vein, then ran south along th or to open it up and to more fully determine its extent. It will afford af-ford a better depth to prospect the formation for-mation and will also make the extraction extrac-tion more economical, thereby making a greater saving to the company. It is perhaps 00 feet to th southeast that tb or haa bee a developed and it breaks off to the east along th entire course. In some place it show considerable con-siderable lead and in other it shows more of a eilieiou character, but it Is said on good authority that th mine has more than paid its way since this ore waa developed. Two shifts are working, the night shift being small and engaged in the work of installing the new hoist. While there have been various rumors afloat regarding the condition of Beck Tunnel, tbe developmenta-of the mine justify as high quotations on the stork todav aa those of a few weeks ago. Tbe ore ban been developed for a greater distance and has just as much appearance appear-ance of permanency, and ia addition to tbe work of opening thia part of the territory, forcea are to be add-d in the near future to work tbe old stopea which rarried tbe big values from which the dividends were paid. There is considerable con-siderable ore atill left in these workings work-ings and it is of anch a character that excellent profits can in all probability be made from it. With the old work being renewed and' with the hoist be-iag be-iag Installed to further prospect tie new. Beck Tunnel shonld be in a position posi-tion to furnish a considerable tonnage so the ameltera and at a profit to tbe company., |
