Show STATEMENT SHOWS . - GOOD BANK RESERVE WASH ISO TON. March St. Reports on the condition of nstlnnsl hanks, made In response to the comptroller s last call on March 7. continue to show a gradual ex-psnskm ex-psnskm with a slltrht tendency to curtail circulation. The New York hanka appear to have a substantial reserve beyond the requirements of the law. The contraction of circulation Is reflected re-flected In deposits of lawful money in the treasury to retire the bank currency. The hanks are about t.000,(K)0 ahead of the treasury In tha redemptions, and treasury officials believe much of the clrculstion now being retired will not be asen again until the crop-moving season. The large redemptions are held to Indicate Indi-cate a general movement of money from the Interior to central reserve cities, particularly par-ticularly Nsw York. |
