Show WRITES TO WIDOW OF MAN MURDERED SPOKANE, Wash., March SO. The police department here has received what it regards as important clues regarding re-garding the murder of Beno Hutchinson, Hutchin-son, the Secretary of the Y. M. C. A., who was killed by a revolver shot last October. Hutchinson 's widow since the murder received endearing letters signed Bev. John J. Masten, Harriman, Tenn. These letters were obtained by Detective De-tective Alex McDonald following an interview by McDonald with Mrs. Hutchinson at the home of Mrs. Hutchinson Hutch-inson 's parents in Portland two weeks ago. Mrs. Hutchinson says she has never heard of the man before. She says that in one letter he told a falsehood false-hood about having been personally acquainted ac-quainted with Mr. Hutchinson in Kentucky. Ken-tucky. She says Mr. Hutchinson never was in Kentucky. Evidence has been secured that the Bev. Mr. Masten was in the Northwest somewhere at the time of the murder. Mrs. Hutchinson has also received information that Mas-ten Mas-ten is a lame man, and a lame man is known to have made inquiries for Mr. Hutchinson on the day preceding the murder at the local Y. M. C. A. office. |
