Following the example ex-ample of the automobile and tire manufacturers manu-facturers in the United States, the Institution Insti-tution of Automobile Kngineerd has worked out a series of standard aizes for tires which will be adequate to the requirements re-quirements of all cars made In England. British tire manufacturer have already decided to suspend d reduction of tires not included in the standard list. Thfy are, however, continuing to supply such tires to those who have automobiles that require re-quire them, but this supply will dwindle as new automobiles are bought up. It was in 1917 when, partly as a war measure and partly to make for cheap- neaa in production the American tire and automobile manufacturers came to an- agreement on certain definite siies for the who'ie Industry.
