Show EXPECTS BIG RUSH. AT ELEVENTH HOUR Income Tax Collectors Now Hold Night Sessions With nearly 10,000 Income taxpayers still tj.be heard from and March IS as the las day for making returns, another an-other eleventh-hour rush is anticipated antici-pated at Internal revenue headquarters headquar-ters in the federal building, where they began yesterday keeping the office open until I p. m. for the accommodation of the public. According to David C. Dunbar, collector, col-lector, the tsxpayers are not taking advantage of the night session aa they should, thus causing inconvenience to themselves and to the service as well. Through the day room 30 on the second floor of the post office building Is crowded and it has been impossible to furnish enough clerks and deputies to prevent long waits by those who would make returns. Nevertheless, the attendance In the evening was so light as to hardly warrant keeping the clerks on the job. Those who can do so will find It much more convenient to appear after o'clock, since their problems can likely be explained Immediately. The offices will be open tonight, Saturday Sat-urday and Monday until $ o'clock, and on Tuesday, the last day, they will be1 open until midnight. j |
