Show Railroad Asks Refund Of 1937 Tax Penalties A petition seeking refund of $1930.88 paid in 1938 by the Denver it Rio Grande Western railroad as penalty on delinquent 1937 taxes Thursday was being studied by County Attorney Harold E. Wallace, Wal-lace, with a vw to recommending action for the Salt Lake county commission. Receivers for the railroad filed the petition, citing that federal laws exempt the company for tax penalties during the period of receivership re-ceivership and also calling attention atten-tion to the state tax commission's ruling, after a hearing, that the penalty was collected wrongfully by Treasurer J. R. Jarvis. . |
