Show NEW CHURCH DEDICATED SUN 1 In eastern Europe today "the j church is being crucified. Athi-fst.s Athi-fst.s and Communists are seeking I to control everything," Most Rev. jDuane G. Hunt, bishop, Salt 1 Lake Catholic diocese, said Sun-! Sun-! day at dedication of the new I church in Copperton. The bishop dedicated the I church under the title, "The Im-i Im-i maculate Conception." I In his dedication speech, Bish-j Bish-j 5p Hunt said, "what the evil for-f for-f ces of eastern Europe cannot control, they try to destroy." He : urged prayers for the religious Peoples of those nations and urged urg-ed rejoicing that "today we are reonacting here the birth of Our Lord. Today the church is born here." Earlier in the day, Rev. John A. LaBranche, pastor of the new church, celebrated the first mass in the new structure. He feted members of the clergy at a dinner din-ner in the parish hall of the $44,-000 $44,-000 church. Some twenty five Priests from out of town were present. Assisting at the dedication ceremonies cer-emonies were Rt. Rev. Msgr. Joseph Jo-seph P. Moreton, chaplain, Holy Cross hospital, master of ceremonies; ceremo-nies; Rt. Rev. Patrick A. Ma-guire,. Ma-guire,. dean of Salt Lake county, deacon, and Rev. Martin E. Burke, pastor, St. Vincent de Paul church, Murray, sub-deacon. o |
