Show TURKEY SHOOT TORE HELD by Jim Abplanalp TURKEY SHOOT MAYBE1 Due to the sudden snow storm last week end, the BDAA Turkey Tur-key and Chicken Shoot was postponed post-poned till fairer weather. If conditions con-ditions permit, the shoot will be held this Sunday and Monday. We will try to have the grounds cleared off and hope to have a roaring bon-fire to warm up your trigger fingers. The new tima has been set to begin firing at 1:00 p.m. till 5:00. Several prizes will be awarded to lucky contestants, so don't forget, for-get, keep your eye on the weather wea-ther chart. P. G. At Bingham Tonight Bingham's prep hoopsters play host to the strong Pleasant Grove five tonight in a double header at the Copperton gym. Coach Allsop's crew lost an extra period per-iod thriller to the P. G. quint earlier this season and are seeking seek-ing to even the pre-seaso'n match tonight. Last Tuesday, the Miners defeated de-feated the Wildcats of South Summit in an afternoon game, as the entire squad saw action. Bingham has a good looking crew of boys, heighth, speed and a-, a-, bility galore, and should make a tine showing this season. Remember to show your BDAA BD-AA card, and also that you have to pay the 15c tax on every admission. ad-mission. First game begins at 7 n m. so get down early. Election Next Month The next regular meeting of the BDAA board of directors, to be held January 9, 1950, will be election night. All organizations that have or would like to have a representative on this board, are requested to send a man to the election meeting. The BDAA is looking forward to the greatest great-est year of its history, and would like to have a representative from every organization in this district. dis-trict. ALLEY ANGLES Both Bingham ten-pin squads placed well up in the recent Salt Lake City Tourney and several of the boys did allright in the doubles and singles events. Geo. Sluga led the local pinsters with some fine scores, 601 in team, 612 in singles and 550 double, for a nice 1774 all-events total. BDAA and Gemmell teams both shot near 2800 in the team events. Still In Lead The Gemmell five clung to the lead at Sugar House, winning 3 of 4 from Coon Chicken Inn, and losing the other game by a scant two pins. The new league at the Gemmell Gem-mell club is about formed and ready for action. You fellows not lined up had better contact a team soon, looks like a very good season is expected on the new lanes. BDAA Hoop News The 1950 BDAA hoop league will begin play at the Gemmell court Monday, January 9 at 6:30 p.m. with 8 teams seeing action. Don't miss these games; lots of fun and excitement. |
