Show LABOR CHARGES ARE DISMISSED BY UTAH BOARD Restaurant Upheld in First Decree of U. L. R. B. In lis first derision slnrs being created by the 193T legislature, the stats labor relations board Friday dismissed charges brought by the Culinary alliance, local No. ilS, against ths Mayflower tavern, 134 South Main street. The board held that evidence offered of-fered at hearings did not sustain a union charga thst the tavern management man-agement locked doors In order to svade collective bargaining. At the aame time, the board held ths alliance to be the appropriate agency for collective bargaining. George C. Glaus, msnager, had said In his defense thst hs closed ths tavern for several reasons, one of which waa that construction wss proceeding next door. In sending Mr. Glsus a copy of the decision, ths board acknowledged receipt of a communication from the manager ssying hs intended to reopen the tavern Saturday. Noting Its designation of the union as bargaining agency, the board suggested to Mr. Glsus that hs offer reemployment to persons who were employed at ths time ef closing, on the same terms as before, be-fore, and that he take steps to deal with the alliance on all matters affecting wages, hours and other working conditions. |
