JncaLXatholic-church officials. i The high ranking Catholic digni- . tary from Vatican City, from where the information cams, recalled the innumerable beauties of the country, coun-try, particularly of the Rocky mountain moun-tain region. Cardinal Pacelli spent a short time in Salt Lake City when he crossed the continent by privats plane. He waa greeted at the airport air-port by a large group of high Catholic Cath-olic officials and prominent church members. He had a conference with the Moot Rev. James E. Kearney, Kear-ney, D. D, bishop of the Salt Lake Catholic diocese. He referred to the great industrial indus-trial developments, of "skyscrapers" gigantic bridges and irrigation systems, sys-tems, and hydroelectric projects, such as Boulder dam. He aaid he waa particularly impressed with ths parochial life, so flourishing in the United States. He made mention men-tion of the Catholic schools and praised the seal of the priests and religious laboring in the parishes. |
