Show Early Spotted Fever Season Forecast An early Rocky Mountain spotted spot-ted fever sesson probably will occur oc-cur this yesr, Dr. Wllllaml M. McKay, acting stsle health commissioner, com-missioner, warned Wednesday. Judging from the mildness of the winter, Dr. McKay said, wood ticks that transmit the disease probably will make their appearance appear-ance earlier this year. Physicians should advise patients pa-tients who are exposed to tick bites to be Immunized within a short time, Dr. McKay said. . The weekly state report on communicable com-municable diseases showed 1262 new cases, compared with 608 for tha previous week. Whooping cough was largely responsible for the Increase. More than 400 cases of whooping cough were reported from Uintah county, and the same county also reported 101 cases of chlckenpox. For the entire state there were 552 whooping cough cases, compared with 139 for the previous week. |
