Miller was chosen "Queen Galena" and will reign over the I Centennial Galena days celebration. celebra-tion. To preside with her as rulers at the three-day fete will be Miss Erma June Gammell, daughter dau-ghter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Ray Gammell, as Princess Copper; and Miss Jeane Willis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Willis, as Princess Silver. The girls received receiv-ed beautiful ribbons lettered in metallics and in addition Miss Miller will receive a complete outfit of sports clothing and Miss Gammell and Miss Willis, each j will receive an engraved wrist- j watch. The three were announced I winners of the queen contest by j Al Ablett, master of ceremonies, j at the Coronation Ball held Saturday Sat-urday evening at the Civic Cen- ter. A large crowd applauded the i choice of the judges, Francis J. Cowan, Bevan Leonard and Thomas A. Valle, all of Salt Lake I City. Harold W. Nielsen was I chairman of the contest. Bob Jimas, general chairman ! of Galena Days, said the three I will be active as representatives I of Galena days at various Cen-! Cen-! tennial fetes throughout the j state during the months inter- vening between their selection and the celebration itself. The winsome trio will rule over Bingham's Centennial year Galena days, Sept- 25, 26 and 27. |
