Show HARRIES RITES . SET WEDNESDAY Funeral services for Benjamin P.ees Harriet, 69, former Salt Lake county sheriff and veteran Democratic party worker who died Sunday in a Salt Lake hospital of a gland ailment, will be conducted Wednesday at 12:30 p. m. In the Parleys L Dj S. ward chapel, Twenty-first South and Twenty-firt Twenty-firt East street, by J. F. Sheffield, bihop of Wells ward. A veteran law enforcement offi- cer. Mr. Harries served as deputy sheriff two terms, in addition to bis own term at sheriff. He was born in Salt Lake City August 31, 1871, a son of Henry H. and Mary Rees Harries. Since his retirement from' public office he had been engaged in ranching in Salt Lake county and Wyoming. Active in L. D. S. church work, Ex-Sheriff Dies i V BENJAMIN R. HARRIES , Ranching Followed Police Work be was superintendent of the Wells L. D. S. stake farm and a member of the high priests' quorum in Wells stske. He resided at 567 Hollywood avenue. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Sylvia Slddoway Harries; three eon. Hugh H. Harries, Cristobal, C. Z ; Robert S. Harries, Salt Lake City, and Wtlllard J. Harries, Los Angeles, Cal.; four daughters, Mrs. Emma Denlo and Mrs. Afton Sav-ace. Sav-ace. Salt Lake City; Mrs. Sylvia Patterson, Spanish Fork, and Mrs. Elizabeth Walsh. Binghamton, N. Y.; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a brother, Howell Harries, Teton, Idaho; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Lloyd and Mrs. Elizabeth Llddle, both of Salt Lake City. Friends may call at the home of Mrs. Savage, 1294 Twenty-first East street, until time of services. Burial will be in City cemetery. |
