Show 250 MAROONED IN SNOW FREED RAWLINS, Wyo., Feb. 7 (INS-Two (INS-Two hundred and fifty motorists, marooned when a sudden ground blizzard (tailed more than 100 automobile in drift on a seven-mile seven-mile stretch of Lincoln highway between Medicine Bow and Hanna, Wyo., 30 mile west of Rawlins, were accounted for today. Th rescue was effected last night by 20 snowplows. Howard Thomas, a mail carrier, who wandered 10 mile on foot over blizzard-lashed prairie when hi car became stalled shortly after outbreak of the storm, was found snowbllnd shortly before midnight mid-night by two sheepherders four miles north of Parco. He had been wandering aimlessly since 10 a. m. yesterday with his mail pouches slung over his shoulders. The storm was confined to a small area. No snow waa blown Jnto Rawlins, although roads In several direction were blocked by huge drift. Motorists brought Into Rawlins said the wind blew so hard during the blizzard that snow sifted Into inclosed car. |
