Show Monticello Farmer Found Dead in Pickup Truck Surviving are his widow, Sarah Perkins Barton; four daughters, Mrs. Thorn Norton. Mrs. Afton Frost, Mrs. Elolss Mahon and Mrs. Oral Johnson; one son, Evan Barton, who la on an LD 8 mission In Tennessee; a brother, A. B. Barton, postmaster at Monticello, and another brother, Albert Barton, Bar-ton, believed to be In Salt Lake City. Mr. Barton wss bom In Ferron, Emery county, Jan. 27. 1882. Barton, 87, of Monticello was found dead early Saturday in his pickup truck on his farm 20 miles east of here. He usually goes out Monday morning and returns home Saturday Satur-day night This week he hsd with him s little grandson, Jody Norton, 9, who was keeping him company. Friday morning ths boy went to visit a neighbor about a mile away and came back In the evening with the Frank Fullmer children. They couldn't find Mr. Barton and ths pickup waa gone, so they decided he must hsvs gone to town. Jody then went back and stayed overnight with the Fullmers. Saturday Sat-urday morning when Lyman Flack, wha lasses part of the Barton farm, came to work- at C:30, he saw Mr. Barton's pickup parked out ta the field. He went out and found Mr. Barton dead In the seat af the truck. - A cup an. the running board Indicated In-dicated he 'had come to get a drink of water, and then laid down : to rest It la believed as suffered , a heart attack. j |
