EUett. Stephenson, when taken Into cuatody by Salt Lake police, made hie escape by answering; to the name of another prisoner who- was due for release. He later was apprehended ap-prehended In Las Vegas, Nev., and 'returned to face the felony counts He is accused of the robbery of John H. Hodgson on May 14. and the theft of more than 150 of personal per-sonal property from the Salt Lake Barber and Beauty Supply Co, 137 E. 3rd South, on. May 13. No trial date was set Saturday by Judge Ellett In other cases Judge Ellett committed com-mitted Benjamin Romero Gabal-don, Gabal-don, 21, 1001 W. 4th South; Ruben Romero Cabal don, 23, 1(41 South Gats ave., and BUI Staten, 20, Whltefish, Mont, to indeterminate terms of fire years to Ufa in the Utah stats prison. The Qabaldona previously had pleaded guilty to a charge of rob-aery rob-aery glowing est of the holdup of the Oquirrh pharmacy, 401 E. 4th South, June 29. Staten had pleaded to a charge of assault with a deadly weapon with Intent to commit com-mit robbery In connection with the slugging of T. R. Click, owner of the New Villa motel, 176 4 W. South Temple, July . Leon Julius Peterson, 22, 262 Paxton avs., and John A. Beck, 21, 612 E. 2nd South, were placed on probation. Peterson had plssded guilty to embezzlement and Beck to a chargs of Issuing checks with Insufficient funds. Bsck was fined 3300 and both men were ordered to make restitution. The chargs sgsinst Peterson grsw out of ths embezzlement of money from the Lyric theater, 132 S. State, Jan. 9.
