MINING NOTES, The ore and bullion settlements In this city yesterday amounted to $67,500. The United States smelter put another furnace in commission yesterday. The capacity of the smelter is now 825 tons dally. - ' The Trade foliar Extension company was incorporated yesterday. The capitalisation capi-talisation Is $500,000. The Daly West marketed 4,015,570 tons of . ore last week, or nearly 300 tons dally. .' W. H. Tlbbals yesterday closed a deal for Eastern clients, whereby they become be-come owners of 100 acres of rgold-pro-ducing country In British Columbia. S. C. Hazelton has left the Germanla smelter to take charge of the Philadelphia Phila-delphia plant at Pueblo. The 2-cent assessment on Tetro will become due on Saturday, February 26th. ELECTRIC EOAD MAY ENTER PROMISING MINING. DISTRICT. ; An Eastern syndicate which has bonded some valuable property In the Silver Lake and American Fork mining districts, Is seriously, considering the advisability of building an electric road from American Fork to Deer Creek. Such a move on the part of the Eastern East-ern capitalist would be a great impetus to the mining business of tJiose districts dis-tricts and the local men interested in the property there are highly elated over the prospects. Reports from the Silver Lake district this morning tell of an unusual strike on the property owened by John Cleghorn. A veki twenty feet wide disclosing copper pyrites assaying as high as 22.5 per cent has been opened. This property has been bonded by the syndicate referred re-ferred to above, and the construction of a mill at tbe mine Is now being considered. con-sidered. LITTLE BELL HOLDS ALOOF. Not a sale has been recorded In Little Lit-tle Bell since the stock was, listed several sev-eral days ago. Buyers and sellers have been cautious In approaching the stock, it being not unusual to secure a difference differ-ence of from $1 to $2 in the prioes bid and those offered. The Idaho Gold Dredging company, composed of well-known Salt Lakers, Is about ready to begin aetive dredging of the Snake river. - Tbe company has Its equipment all but completed and the gold-bearing sands extending for twenty miles along the Snake river will be robbed of their riches by modern dredging machinery. Theron Geddea, manager of the Swansea, is manager of the company; W. C. Bogue, manager of the Mine & Smelter Supply company, Is vice-president, and these, with Stephen O. Snyder, S. V.
