Every malaria patient In Greater New York will be placed in a cage of thickly woven wire netting that no mosquito can penetrate. This Is the most remarkable. feature of a vast crusade to be Inaugurated before be-fore the beginning of spring by Health Commissioner Lederle against the disease di-sease that ' is being spread broadcast by the foul fumes from the torn up streets of the city. All tlje preparations prepara-tions have been completed. The purpose of the cage Is to prevent mosquitoes from spreading the malaria germs. The central Idea of 3Ir. Lederle's scheme Is to isolate -every serious case of malaria In New York and keep It under strict supervision while applying the most up-to-date scientific treatment. An elaborate scheme in outlying marshes and getting rid of stagnant pools of water will -also be undertaken as part of the anti-malaria campaign. |
