The Senate Live-Stock committee reported re-ported yesterday afternoon on Senator Johnson's bill authorising Sheriffs to act as live-stock inspectors. The measure meas-ure also provides a penalty for shipping ship-ping or driving live stock from the State without inspection. Senator . Bamberger's bill for the treatment of habitual drunkards at the expense of the counties in which they reside has received the approval of the-Committee the-Committee on County and Municipal Corporations. If the bill reaches the House several members will propose amendments restricting the authority of the court to indigent drunkards alone: -An amendment to Senate bill No. 33, which fixed the salary of the Supreme court stenographer at $1800, has been made by the Committee on Salaries. The amount recommended is $1200. ' -. . "I am told," Said Senator Barber today, to-day, "that if I wish to kill myself politically, poli-tically, the way to do it Is to Introduce a fish and game bill. ' The special conference committee from the House appointed to consider Senate bill No. 10, relating to the payment pay-ment of bounties on wild animals, has decided to recommend a reconsideration reconsidera-tion of the measure which was defeated in the Senate. , While the House bill appropriating $25,000 for the Utah exhibit at the Louiar lana Purchase exposition was hung up in the committee room, the Senate yesterday yes-terday afternoon passed a bill appropriating appro-priating $50,000 for that purpose and sent it to the House.
