Parker, since promoted pro-moted to the Admiralty. lie was temporarily tem-porarily attached to the Massachusetts during Gen. Miles' expedition, and returned re-turned to New York through the Mediterranean. Medi-terranean. . In 1S99 he started on the fish commission commis-sion ship Albatross with the Agassi expedition, then spent two summers exploring ex-ploring In Alaska. He then joined the ship Cincinnati and went to San Domingo, Do-mingo, on account of the need of protection pro-tection to American Interests during the revolution. ' Lieut. Miller's next experience was at Martinique. He arrived at St. Pierre while that, city was still burning. He entered the city and was there during a slight eruption of the volcano, which was afterward followed by the most terrific ter-rific eruption at St. Vincent. - After leaving Martinique, he visited the Isthmus of Panama, . Haiti .and Venezuela. Lieut. Miller will remain In Salt Lake until Saturday.
