Eabor nous. 1 The following meetings will be held in Federation of Labor halls tonight: Machinists' Ma-chinists' union, hall No. 1; Brotherhood of Painters, hall No. S; Expressmen's union, hall No4. and the Building Trades Council, in hall No. 5. There are over 15,000 men and women In Cleveland, O., who belong to labor organisations. or-ganisations. Sherman (Tex.) painters have returned to worn, differences having been satisfactorily satisfac-torily adjusted. The average number employed at the London (England) docks is nearly 2000 below the number when trade was good. The International Association of Bulling Bull-ing Laborers, which Is made up of hod-carriers, hod-carriers, has a membership of 23,000. Reports of the labor leaders indicate that good work is being done In the formation for-mation of labor unions throughout Iowa. There is a strong movement on foot in Oakland, Cal., to form a co-operative union stable. It will soon take definite shape. Des Moines, la., express drivers and clerks have organised for the purpose of making demands for an Increase in wages. Tile-layers at Toronto, Canada, Will ask for an Increase of 6 cents an hour this summer'. At present they are receiving SO cents an hour. |
