Engineer Gerald Street, who will lay out the lines of the mill, left for camp last night and Engineer Strickland, who is at present gathering data and plans in the local offices, will follow Mm to survey the line of the railroad from the mine to the mill, on Sunday night A. J. Bettles will leave tomorrow night to examine the Montana-Revenue ! property in Montana in which Samuel Newhouse is interested. SCOTTISH CHIEF SHAFT , HAS REACHED THE ORE. Word was telephoned down last night that the main shaft on the ' Scottish Chief had broken Into the wins which was sunk on the ore from the upper levels and the general direction of which was toward the shaft This means that the shaft is now In ore and much faster progress will be made. I Rood, manager of the Daly and Ontario companies, who returned from Park City last night, says that conditions condi-tions at the Daly are encouraging and that work in the ground tapped by the Maxeppa haft Is being pushed forward with increased xeal while the ore body - which was encountered some time ago till presents a most satisfactory appearance. ap-pearance. Mr. Rood says that he believes that the new Ontario mill has at last struck Its gait All the minor changes and adjustments ad-justments always necessary in a new plant have been made and the mill is , running with the greatest regularity and smoothness. PIOCHE-NEVADA TO CHANGE METHODS A directors' meeting has been called tonight of the PIoche-Nevada Consolidated Consoli-dated board. It has been decided to stop the gen-. gen-. eral work In different places which has been going on and confine the development develop-ment work to tapping the ore bodies at depth. As great a force will be used as heretofore here-tofore but the work will be done In one place and much more satisfactory and permanent results are anticipated.
