The stock rose IV ovwr last night and St. Paul, Southern Pacific and Pannaylvanla a point or more. Fractional Frac-tional advances obtained elsewhere. Bonds were steady at noon. Heavy selling orders appeared In Union Pacific when It reached 7 and It re-, lapsed sharply, dragging the market down with It. The bull movement In the grain-carrying grain-carrying stocks was resumed, however, and Union Pacific bounded up to , a rise of 4 and St. Paul crossed 14a. Northern North-ern Securities moved up on the curb. Other, advances included a point in Missouri Mis-souri Pacific. Atchison. Reading and Baltimore Bal-timore 4k Ohio and 144 in Southern PaclAc. Brooklyn Union Gas jumped i In one transaction. Union Padrtc reacted 14 and Pennsylvania and St. Paul a point. United States Steel preferred and Amalgamated olny got a fraction over last night. St Paul & Omaha j dropped 10 and American Express and Atlantic Coast line gained 3 and 3 respectively. re-spectively. The general list did not get higher than before except one or- two atooks which added a alight fraction. An intimation waa given of a forthcoming forthcom-ing statement of the plan for distribution of the Northern Securities assets. Union Pacific rose to and Northern Securities on the curb was within a shade of par. The rest of the market was only moderately mod-erately active and steady. The closing was active and firm. Boston W00L BOSTON, March 23. Though the general gen-eral tone of the wool market is quiet there is a large quantity of wool changing chang-ing hands.
