Show ONLY FOUR ARE INJURED TOPEKA. Kan.. Aug. 13. Santa Fe train No. 17 was wrecked this morning shortly after midnight six miles east of Topeka. The entire train with the exception ex-ception of the engine and rear sleeper was ditched, and only four, people Injured. In-jured. The accident is one of the most remarkable In the history of the road. The track was jtorn up for a distance of 200 yards, and in some places not even the ties were left where they were formerly placed. - The wreck occurred upon a nearly straight piece of track, and what caused it will probably be hard to learn. The train was behind time a few minutes, min-utes, but had slowed down for Tecum-seh, Tecum-seh, and was not running to exceed thirty miles an hour, according to statements state-ments of the passengers. |
