Ostrich, which has been kept out of the recent skirmishes in which Derby material tried conclusions, was made an odds-on favorite, and was backed from 4 to 8 to Z to 6 at post time. Foresight was the second choice, and advanced from 2 to 1 to 13 to 6, and was then 'played down to 11 to S. The running of the race was far from satisfactory. Fuller- kept Ostrich, the favorite, under a steady pull, and It looked as though he wanted to permit Foresight to get to him before he let the son of Ored Plumage down.
