PROVO: At last night's meeting of the Provo City Council, the report of the Committee on Licenses, recommending that . the implement dealers' license be abolished and that implement dealers be licensed as merchants, was adopted and the Committee on Judiciary was instructed in-structed to amend the license ordinance to conform tp the report. v PROVO: The commercial class of the Brlgham Young academy gave its graduating grad-uating exercises yesterday, rendering an excellent programme. The court ruled that Boyle had signed the check, but that O'Neil had filled in the. amount, that the check was drawn In lead pencil and that the date of the check was placed two years in advance of the signature, all of which made it illegal. EPHRAIM: The city schools of Eph-raim Eph-raim will hold their graduating exercises in the opera-house on June 6th. An excellent ex-cellent programme will be rendered. PROVO: M. H. Graham of Provo. who is in Denver attending the convention of the Western Bill Posters' association, writes that he has secured the next convention con-vention in 3903 for Provo. He has been elected vice-president of the association and also elected a delegate to the National Convention of Bill Posters which meets In Atlanta, Ga., in July, this year. Idaho. BOISE: John N. Grogan, the Nampa, special officer, who was shot in the shoulder shoul-der by James T. Quarles, colored, of Boise, last Sunday afternoon during a squabble which followed the ball game in that city, is sinking rapidly and may not live another day. Mrs. Grogan came over from Nampa last night at the suggestion of physicians, who advised her that her husband could not recover. Although the drill has penetrated pene-trated but a few feet into the sand, the well is ffowlng three barrels an hour, with indications that It may develop Into a two or three hundred barrel well as soon as the sand has been penetrated to a greater depth. ...
