Show ENGINEER LOSES LIFE IN WRECK 1 Fast Mail on Iron Mountain Jumps -TracK, Killing One Person and Injuring Ten Others. -ST. LOUIS, Oct. 11. The Iron Mountain Moun-tain fast mail trainwhich was late in leaving Union station today, jumped the track while making up lost time at the f city limits killing one and injuring ten other persons. Engineer John Caspas, 45 years old, St. Louis, is dead. i The accident occurred within a short , distance of where , the same train was similarly wrecked last spring. Behind th4 engine were three mail ears. . The engine and two cars plunged , from the track at a sharp carve and f went down an embankment. Engineer j Caspas was crushed to death. Fireman Rafferty is so- badly injured it is be-i be-i lieved that he cannot recover. He has ' teen out of the hospital only two weeks. Two of the mail clerks were seriously injured, the others being badly bruised. |
