Hart of Logan, one of the best-known Democrats in the State and twice Judge of the First district, dis-trict, has been sent on a mission to the Northern States, according to information informa-tion from Logan. Two years ago this fall Jndge Hart was nominated for the third term, but was beaten by Judge W. W. Maughan. Last April Judge Hart was named as one of the first seven presidents of seventies of the Mormon church. ' I Members of the Board of Education have decided that it would be against a rule of the board to permit the children chil-dren of the public schools to carry home printed slips of instructions , on "How to Vote." The board has always al-ways been against the children carrying carry-ing any printed matter from the schools to their homes. Johnson, and A. O. Jacobson. About 500 were in attendance. . The Democrats held a well attended rally at the Central schoolhouse last evening. The speakers were W. H. King, L. E. Hall, Ashby Snow, J. W. Stringfellow and H. C. Lund. The Eepublican State committee have announced the following itinerary for Senator George Sutherland: October 29, Twentieth ward meeting-house; October Oc-tober 30, North Ogden; October 31, Murray; November 1, Spanish Fork; November 2, Brieham City; November 3, Springville; November 5, Eureka. Congressman Howell and Carl Badger's dates are as follows: October 27, Bountiful; Boun-tiful; October 29, Kaysville; October 30, Hooper: October 31, Hnntsville; November No-vember 2, American Fork. The American party will hold a rally at Knott's hall. First and O streets, in the Thirty-third district, this evening. The speakers will be Thomas Weir, W. Mont Ferry, A. H. Vogeler and Thomas Homer. "From a Business Standpoint" will be the subject of the addresses. Fourth ward voters are expected ex-pected to turn out in large numbers at the rally. e A meeting of the district chairmen of the Democratic party is called for tomorrow night at 8 o'clock. The meeting will be held in county headquarters. head-quarters. Mrs. M. F. Cunningham will be at Democratic county headquarters this afternoon af-ternoon for the purpose of explaining the new voting machine to any who may wish instructions. Tomorrow Mrs. John E. Clark will fill the same position. A large crowd gathered at Federation of Labor hall last evening for the purpose pur-pose of taking part in the American rally, which was one of the largest and most enthusiastic yet held. Assistant City Attorney H. J. Dininny was the principal speaker of the evening. His address was devoted to calling the attention at-tention of the audience to the promises of the American party last year and the way they have been carried out. He gave comparative figures, showed the rapid increase in land valuations and the advent of the many manufacturing j concerns into Salt Lake City. He declared de-clared that the community is fast advancing ad-vancing to the high tide of progress. J. NV Spalding spoke on the labor question and declared that although President Samuel Oompers of the Federation Fed-eration of Labor had advised laboring men to enter politics, it was not his intention in-tention that they should place a ticket of their own in the field. His intention, the speaker declared, was to have such men elected at would be fair - to the laboring men. ' Frank K. Christensen, candidate for County- Clerk, spoke of the building and disbanding of the old Liberal party par-ty on the promise of the leaders of the Mormon church. This promise he declared de-clared had been broken, sot by the Mormon people but by the leaders.
