Schumann-Helnk, Schumann-Helnk, the singer, down on the passenger passen-ger list as "Frau Schumann-Helnk-Rapp, Jr.," came back to America yesterday yes-terday on the steamshlp'Bleucher. With her were three sons, Helnrich, Hans and Walter, who are going to be Americans. Amer-icans. They are 19. 18 and 17 years old respectively. Herman, who is 15, was left In Germany, where he is attending attend-ing a nautical college. '"i had some trouble getting the boys out of the country," she said, "because the Government wanted them to serve their three years in the army; but. as Mr. Rapp is an American, I succeeded. "I have bought a farm at Caldwell, near Montclair, N. J., and we will live there. The boys have no ambition for the operatic stage. They will go Into business, unless they are so taken up wlth'the farm that they remain there." |
