Ollliland. a member of the board, said: , . ... "I don't see bow we can avoid It. as we have entered into contracts running from three to five years, and aa men are continually being discharged. It stands to reason that we will have to fill the place of those who go out, and this will make necessary the use of new men." Jacob Stoessel. a member of the conference con-ference board of molders, who were the prime movers in the passage of the Werts bill, was asked what would , be ne in the event the penitentiary authorities au-thorities undertook to placa new men on contract work. ' , ; ' "There Is no doubt as to the action of the officers of the conference board of th Molder' union." he said. "We would immediately take legal steps to prevent such disobedience to the law.
