The silver cup given 'by tha enlisted men of the British Brit-ish second cruiser squadron, under the command of Prlnca Louis of Batten-berrr Batten-berrr to the enlisted men of the United States Atlantic fleet, was received yesterday yes-terday on board the flagship Maine, by Rear-Admlral 'Evans atod staff officers and crew of the Maine, and a commit-' tee of three enlisted men from each of the warship 'Maine, Missouri, Kentucky, Ken-tucky, , Kearsarre, West Virginia, Maryland and Tank ton, now lying m ths North rtver. . . ' .7 ' ' . ; All of- the vessels took part In the entertainment ,of .tha officer and men of Prince Louis' squadron when it visited America last autumn.' , , Standing- three feet high, the cup is beautifully engraved, and will be, made a yearly racing trophy to be held by the best twelve-oared boat's crew in the Atlantic fleet. . At the ceremonies attending the reception re-ception of . the cup. Rear-Admlral Evans made a few remarks. To the enlisted men of the British . cruiser squadron the following letter of acceptance was sent through Prince Louts, Rear-Admlral: "We, the enlisted men of the United States Atlantic fleet. . gratefully acknowledge receipt of the loving cup S resented by the enlisted men of hi ajesty-'s cruiser squadron.
