He experienced an attack of heart failure while on a trip to Colo-I Colo-I rado last summer, and since last October Octo-ber was confined to his home. - : . -MaJ.- Bird was -a - well-known and respected re-spected resident of this dtyifor nearly thirty years. . He . was born. In- Wilmington, Wil-mington, Del., April 6, 1844,' and came West at the time that the Union Pacific Pa-cific was building through Wyoming. Later he came to Salt Lake and entered en-tered Into a law yartnership under the firm name of Bird A Lowe. This partnership part-nership was dissolved about- fifteen' years ago. During his residence in Salt Lake' he was connected as attorney with some of the largest corporations In the West. . He was a veteran of the civil war, and at one time was stationed sta-tioned at' Fort Douglas. MaJ. Bird leaves a widow and eight children, five sons and three daughters. - No arrangements have yet been made for the funeral. , , -. - |
