The Herald today to-day says: Charles A. Peabody has been selected as the next president of the Mutual Life Insurance company. Unless the programme prepared ; yesterday yes-terday by the trustees is unexpectedly changed, Mr. Peabody will be elected at a meeting of the board to be held tomorrow. . According; to this programme Frederic Fred-eric Cromwell, now acting president of the company, will be made vice-president and Emery McClintock, the company's com-pany's actuary, second vice-president. Messrs. Cromwell and McClintock will replace Messrs. Robert A Oranniss and "Walter- R. He la a director of the Gallatin National bank, the Bank for Savings, the National Na-tional Bank of Commerce, the .Astor National lank and is trustee of several other financial institutions. Mr. Peabody Pea-body Is also a director of the Illinois Central, the Union Pacific and is a member of the board of managers of the Delaware & Hudson Railroad -company. His Insurance ' connection has been limited to the . directorate of the British-American Insurance company of' New York. He also represents the William Waldorf Astor estate.
