Show SALT LAKE HAS HEALTH RECORD Botfd: of Health' Report ' Issued More Boys Than Girls Born. Salt LAke City again leads the cities of the United States as a city of good health, according, to the report of the Board of Health Just issued by Clerk M. R. Brothers. . The report for the month of November shows that the annual an-nual death rateper 1000 aa based on the number bf deaths for "the month would be 10.24, while the rate for the month per 1000 is .85, which Is lower than that of any other city from which a report has been received. During the month 64 deaths occurred, 33 males and 31 females. Of this number num-ber 25 were 'non-residents of the city. Nineteen bodies were brought here for burial and 22 were shipped away. The number of boys born this month beats the girls by 20. In the past month .144 births 'were recorded, 62 males, and 62 females. ,- The- number of cases of contagious disease was 68,- segregated as follows: Sixteen diptherta, 12 scarlet fever, 11 typhoid, 15 - smallpox, 2 varioloid, 2 tuberculosis, 5 pneumonia. Tha innftarv ilAnaHmont nmlcr:i tori 48 houses, consisting of 248 roms; received re-ceived and attended 60 ' complaints; made 230 visits and Inspections, served 75 written notices, had 460 vaults, cess pools and grease traps cleaned; served 35 notices for removal of refuse; made 40 Inspections of sewer connections. At the city creamatory 245 loads of garbage were destroyed, also 10 loads of swill. 630 pounds of food. 20 horses, S cows, 65 dogs, and 2 calves.- Loads of ashes ' and rubbish to the number of 2900 were deposited at the city dump. The food Inspectors made an Inspection Inspec-tion during 'the month of 90 grocery stores, 17 hotels, 107 commission houses, 48 bakeries, 70 meat markets, dairies, 66 restaurants, 49 fish markets, and 1 brewery. Twenty-five samples of milk were tested, also 6 of .cream, 2 butter, and one jof pork and beans, chow-chow and chile sauce. - -. . . |
