Show YOUTHFUL BURGLARS CAUGHT IN THE ACT After a lively chase last evening Detectives De-tectives Joseph Burt and George Chase captured two alleged burglars as they were trying to rob the residence of J. D. Wood, 305 East Brigham street. The persons under arrest and charged with attempted burglary are George Young, 17 years ago, and Frank Morris, 21 years old. A third member of the gang escaped. ' The detectives were notified of the attempted burglary by an employee at the Wood residence. When the detectives detec-tives arrived, Burt went to the rear of the house and Chase to the front. In a moment Toung was seen running through the front yard. Chase followed and arrested the lad after firing a shot at him as he passed the rear of the car barns In First East street Burt arrested Morris as he was coming com-ing off the porch after trying the windows win-dows of the house. Burt started with his prisoner around the west of the house as the third man went to the east of the house. Chase saw him and supposed that Burt would get him and therefore gave chase after Young. The attempted robbery was one of the most daring recorded for some time. It happened at 10 o'clock In the evening and at a time when there were a number of pedestrians on the streets. |
